Terms of Service
Effective date: July 6, 2026
JoeHustle ("we," "us," or "our") is currently operated by its founder(s) pending formal incorporation as a C-Corporation. These Terms of Service govern the operation of the JoeHustle platform. Upon incorporation, the legal entity name and state of incorporation will be updated in these Terms.
1. Platform Role & Independent Contractors
JoeHustle is a marketplace that connects verified college students ("providers") with community members ("hirers") who need help getting things done. JoeHustle:
- is not an employer of any provider;
- is not a guarantor of the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service listed or performed on the Platform;
- does not hold or take custody of funds — payments are facilitated through Stripe.
JoeHustle provides the tools for hirers and providers to find each other, communicate, and complete a funded transaction. The underlying service arrangement is between the hirer and the provider.
Providers who offer services through JoeHustle are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or partners of JoeHustle. Providers are solely responsible for:
- their own taxes, including any applicable self-employment taxes;
- obtaining and maintaining any insurance appropriate to the services they offer;
- obtaining any licenses or permits required for their specific service type; and
- complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and university or institutional policies.
JoeHustle does not direct, control, or supervise how a provider performs a service.
2. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of JoeHustle (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
3. Eligibility & Verification
- You must be at least 18 years old to use JoeHustle.
- Student providers verify eligibility using an institutional .edu email address (or an equivalent international academic email). Verification is an automated, self-service process — there is no manual review queue.
- Hirers are not required to hold a .edu email address.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide during signup and verification.
4. Payment Terms
- Hirers authorize payment when sending a funded offer. Payment is authorized at booking time and is charged when the work is marked complete.
- JoeHustle uses Stripe Connect Express to send payouts to providers. JoeHustle does not hold or custody funds at any point in this process.
- JoeHustle charges a platform service fee on successful transactions. The applicable fee is disclosed to you before you confirm any payment.
- Refunds and payment disputes are handled through JoeHustle's admin-mediated reporting tools; refunds are issued at JoeHustle's discretion following a review.
- By creating a Stripe-connected account or otherwise using JoeHustle's payment features (including receiving payouts as a provider or paying as a hirer), you agree to the Stripe Services Agreement, which includes the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Stripe, not JoeHustle, determines account verification and payout eligibility requirements under that agreement.
5. Prohibited Activities & Services
The following are not permitted on JoeHustle:
- Any illegal activity, or services intended to facilitate illegal activity.
- Sale, rental, or transport of weapons, ammunition, or explosives.
- Medical, psychiatric, legal, or professional dietary/nutrition advice requiring licensure.
- Adult content, sexual services, or sexually explicit material.
- Passenger transport of any kind. Driving-related services listed on JoeHustle are limited to transport of items only — providers may not offer rideshare, chauffeur, or any service that transports another person.
- Any professional service that requires a license, certification, bond, or permit the provider does not hold, including but not limited to electrical work, plumbing, general contracting, tax preparation, cosmetology, and legal representation.
- Heavy construction, structural work, roofing, demolition, or other skilled-trade work that requires a licensed and bonded contractor.
- Academic integrity violations, including ghostwriting, completing graded assignments or exams on another person's behalf, or any other service that violates a school's academic honesty policy.
- For student-athlete providers, any name/image/likeness ("NIL") opportunity or arrangement that does not comply with applicable NCAA and institutional NIL rules.
- Harassment, discrimination, fraud, or misrepresentation of identity, qualifications, or service scope.
- Any activity that violates a hirer's or provider's university code of conduct.
JoeHustle may remove listings, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions.
6. Reviews & Trust Signals
Certain trust signals on the Platform, including reviews and completed-job indicators, unlock only after a booking has been paid and marked complete. This is designed to keep trust signals tied to real, completed transactions.
7. Liability Limitations & Dispute Resolution
JoeHustle provides the Platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, JoeHustle disclaims liability for the acts, omissions, or quality of service of any hirer or provider. Responsibility for the quality, safety, and outcome of a service ultimately rests with the parties who agree to it.
JoeHustle provides in-app and admin-mediated reporting tools to help resolve disputes between hirers and providers. JoeHustle may investigate reports and take action (including refunds, warnings, or account suspension) at its discretion, but is not obligated to resolve every dispute in a particular way.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JoeHustle's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid to JoeHustle in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
8. Intellectual Property
The JoeHustle name, logo, and Platform (excluding user-submitted content) are the property of JoeHustle and may not be used without prior written permission.
9. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Platform (such as listing descriptions, photos, and messages). By submitting content, you grant JoeHustle a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the Platform. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you post.
10. Termination
You may stop using JoeHustle at any time. JoeHustle may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Platform, or for other legitimate business reasons, with or without notice where reasonably necessary to protect the Platform or its users.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law. Upon incorporation, this section will be updated to reflect the final state of formation.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of JoeHustle after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
